Convalescence Mural 1 by DeaDNeSS Convalescence Mural 1 by DeaDNeSS
This is one of the pictures atoxicvictory took of my mural (the entire thing is impossible to take one picture of because of size and space). It shows most of it, just not the heartbeat monitor lines and my sig and stuff. But it's the jist of the painting, so I figured it would be the best to post. Note that a good bit of this thing had to be done while standing on a ladder holding several yogurt containers of paint at a time while creepy freshmen and old people kept talking to me. I also had the challenge of painting over a very, very rough surface, with lots of little holes and grooves and such, which basically annhilated the paintbrushes I was using by the end of the whole thing. But yeah, it was done with latex wall paints and the whole thing, I think, is about ten feet in height and a lot longer than than because of the bg. Took about eight weeks, working almost every day except for Sundays for about 6 hours. Giant Bastard basically.

picture copyright mills, image copyright moi, do not reproduce in any way, including tracing, yadda yadda, etc, or you shall face immiment asskicking.

why not stitch the digital images?
amazing combination of sleepy buddha-eyes & gas masks. your effortless integration of different objects/atmospheres gives a very disturbing yet addictive mood to this piece

there's so much to say about this that there's almost no point in saying anything at all. plus someone else in this list of comments prolly said it already, oh well i'll say stuff anyway. Your sense of colour is amazing. the smoke/fog/mist/whatever-is-should-be gives your work a lot of energy, movement and rhythm. the different simulated textures are portrayed amazingly. the highlights and shadows are awesome. ah! i could just go on and on so i'll stop before i take up a million lines. incredible work.

what amazes me about this besides the obvious fact that it's incredible and huge is how well you transferred the ballpoint drawing over to painted mural. you kick ass. period.

How is it you layed down the outline for this thing? I know you didn't just wing it (because you're not a magician) so how is it you got the idea from your mind and transferred it to such a large area?

wow, you have insane skill with the brushes and paints. That is awesome
madhatterzwei Featured By Owner Feb 8, 2006
Whoa! Was this taken on a campus or something? It's still really awesome. I admire your patience and dedication in painting something that huge. At first, when I saw that it was a wall mural, I thought, "YOU DID THAT WITH BALL POINTS!?!" and I almost cried at my lack of talent. But then I felt better because it was paint. But then I thought...I can't really paint either. So either way, you win. Yay for you and your talent!

Now that is genius, I'd hate to see someone ruin that, cuz if they do I'd bet a million of your fans'd be all over em.. +fav

you're extremely talented, no doubt about that. before I read the description, I assumed these were colored pencils of some sort but obviously that's not the case. what kind of paints do you use? :)
