Artist's Comments

This is the companion doll I made to accompany Nursey. I think I sculpted his body and head better than I did on Nursey, but I did him second, so i had a little bit more experience to go on. Once again, I am extremely pleased with the finished product (Especially how nicely he looks with the neckbrace and the bandages).

Bisque (Body), Glass (Eyes), Foam, Yarn, Fabric, safety pins, tra la la, oh and I forgot to mention on the Nursey Doll: they are painted with acrylics.

Injury by ~DeaDNeSS is completely original from sculpt to hair to paint. Looks a little worse for wear but is truly a well thought out piece. Check out this deviant's gallery for some interestingly unique stuff! (Featured by `dedredhed)

Thank you, that is a very neat dollmaker btw, thanks for the link. Bisque is clay that has been fired in a kiln.

sculpty is good to,but some types of it can be brittle.aluminum cores and wire frames are good to.you have to bake sculpty though...

mew, I am making a doll out of sculpy, with an aluminum frame, right now actually (okay, not this very moment, but it is in the workshop, along with one carved from wood, I gotta wait for school to be over so i get some more timeeee :P), but I am not sure if i like it or not, because it keeps cracking if it gets the slightest bump and it is much too soft for my liking. I thought that maybe if i had that sculpy flex and bend stuff it might work better, but they only sell it in obnoxiously bright colors that don't work well for the skintones I like using (aka-bright white, pitch black), and my experience with painting sculpy so far has been just aboot like this: 'jfkdsfsfbhjkdsf!!FUCKKKK!' *eats own hand* I have been thinking aboot getting some liquid sculpy and seeing if that works well as a sealer for it, but I don't know anyone who has used it. You don't happen to have an opinion on it, do you? I would certainly appreciate it. ^^
